Waiter...當服務員的日子

Have been as a waiter before?? Before that I have been worked as a waiter in a stadium here, on that time I feel very hard to work as a waiter even I just work as part time job where work once or twice per day. After I laid off from my previous 'high' salary job, I've tried to find another job for summer, and now I work as a waiter in a Japanese Restaurant but owned by Chinese. The job is the most difficult job I ever done before. Beside serve people I have to do a cleaning stuff like cuci tandas. Can you imagine a person who never do house work like me cuci tandas and cleaning? Everyday I have to work around 10 hours non stop, stand walk and run, my leg was so exhausted and seem wanna to broken. Now I really understand how hard to work in Chinese restaurant in the UK. However, I think it is good to try once to work in Chinese restaurant here, it will make you grow faster and explore more than you can imagine tho. Work as a waiter will make you respect all the waiters and the most important thing is remember to give more tipsssssssss!!!

身為‘太子爺’的我第一次在華人餐廳做服務員，真的是報應。平時在家不曾做家務的我竟然要在餐廳裡洗廁所，收碗碟，掃地抹地等等。其實當一個服務員真的給我這個‘ 嬌生慣養’的大孩很大的磨練；在英國華人餐館做的辛苦並不是一般我們在馬來西亞可以體會到的辛酸，當然在這樣的環境做工會鬧出很多的笑話和故事。餐廳每天都能接觸不同的人，也承受著許多壓力（因為做餐廳是一個分秒必爭的工作）。

我的工作就是早上洗地抹地洗廁所，洗了女厠在洗男廁。用過午餐後客人開始陸續的進來；尤其是週末晚餐時刻，我們的工作就如打仗，鬆懈一分鐘都不能。客人一進來問他多少人，然後帶位，然後那菜單給他們，然後問他們要吃什麼，點菜入單，告訴廚房，幫忙出菜；還要時時要觀察客人吃到那裡，何時需要上主菜和甜品；最後埋單收拾桌子，擺好筷子杯子，然後從新開始另一個過程。。。。看似簡單的過程但是親自做了才知道一點都不簡單，每個步驟都需要快，准，不能出錯。做錯了東西還會被廚房的人罵，會被客人投訴；因為如果你出錯將會影響到其他人工作，輕則罵兩句，重則整個餐廳出大亂子。若你有機會的話，不妨去英國的華人餐廳打打工，去體會這種為生活付出血汗的工作，磨練磨練自己。
